# Create an Organisation

> Set up the organisation boundary used by Infuse Cloud services.

An organisation is the main account boundary in Infuse. Users, service accounts, marketplace activity, devices, billing, and permissions are scoped to an organisation.

Before creating an organisation, [register your user](/docs/getting-started/register-a-user), confirm your email address, and sign in.

Typical setup flow:

1. Register your user, confirm your email address, and sign in.
2. [Create](/docs/infuse-cloud/create-or-switch-organisations) or join an organisation, then select it from the organisation menu at the top of the sidebar.
3. [Invite team members](/docs/infuse-cloud/members-and-invitations) from **Access management** > **Members**.
4. Assign additional roles directly or through [groups](/docs/iam-and-access/users-groups-and-roles).
5. Create [service accounts](/docs/iam-and-access/service-accounts) and API keys for server-side integrations.
6. Configure product-specific resources such as marketplace instances or IoT devices.

## Recommended First Access Setup

Every member has one baseline membership level. Start with the lowest level each person needs:

- **Owner**: trusted people responsible for organisation settings, access administration, and other owners. Keep at least one active owner.
- **Admin**: people who manage members, invitations, access, and day-to-day organisation administration.
- **Member**: people who need baseline access to organisation resources without managing organisation-wide settings or access.

Add narrower product access with additional roles, such as the Infuse-provided **IoT Viewer**, **Device Operator**, **Device Controller**, and **IoT Admin** templates. See [Member Roles](/docs/infuse-cloud/member-roles).

Developer and provider responsibilities in Infuse-Marketplace are set by the [instance type](/docs/marketplace/roles), not by a membership level.

For API access, create a service account with the narrowest access it needs and issue its API key, instead of using a personal user session.
